Moses in the desert and back to Egypt: Exodus 3–4

We can’t know God if we don’t even know about Him.

After 80 years of slavery, and however much longer living in Egypt, the Israelites seem to have forgotten their God. God’s response was simply to introduce Himself, through Moses.

3:14 God replied to Moses, “I Am Who I Am. Say this to the people of Israel: I Am has sent me to you.” 15 God also said to Moses, “Say this to the people of Israel: Yahweh, the God of your ancestors—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob—has sent me to you. This is my eternal name,  my name to remember for all generations.

On his return to Egypt, Moses told Aaron everything that had happened in the desert, and together they met with the Israelite elders and showed them the miraculous signs God gave Moses:

4:31 Then the people of Israel were convinced that the Lord had sent Moses and Aaron. When they heard that the Lord was concerned about them and had seen their misery, they bowed down and worshipped.
