Complaints: Numbers 11–12

Poor Moses. First the people complain about the hardship of the desert life, then the foreigners amongst them complain about the food (too much manna and a lack of meat), then Aaron and Miriam complain about Moses getting all the credit.

Moses was sick of it, and God wasn’t too impressed either. In providing quail, God said:

11:20 You will eat it for a whole month until you gag and are sick of it. For you have rejected the Lord, who is here among you, and you have whined to him, saying, ‘Why did we ever leave Egypt?’

In providing help for Moses, the response from God was firm but understanding:

11:23 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Has my arm lost its power? Now you will see whether or not my word comes true!”

This all reminds me of that famous Keith Green song.
