Isaiah’s prophesies about the earth being destroyed and Israel restored, but not necessarily in that order: Isaiah 24–27

Do we affect the earth with our behaviour? Is it more than just a direct physical effect? Could it be more than that? This prophecy by Isaiah suggests it’s worth considering the possibility:

^{Isaiah 24:4-5}The earth mourns and dries up,
and the land wastes away and withers.
Even the greatest people on earth waste away.
The earth suffers for the sins of its people,
for they have twisted God’s instructions,
violated his laws,
and broken his everlasting covenant.
