Paul’s letter to the Galatians (Part 2): Galatians 4–6

Paul invested some effort into explaining to the Gentile believers that they were equal to Jewish believers without first going through the ritual of circumcision:

Galatians 6:12 Those who are trying to force you to be circumcised want to look good to others. They don’t want to be persecuted for teaching that the cross of Christ alone can save.

To all believers, Jewish and Gentile, following just part of the Law won’t work by itself. Everyone need God’s grace:

5:2-4 Listen! I, Paul, tell you this: If you are counting on circumcision to make you right with God, then Christ will be of no benefit to you. I’ll say it again. If you are trying to find favor with God by being circumcised, you must obey every regulation in the whole law of Moses. For if you are trying to make yourselves right with God by keeping the law, you have been cut off from Christ! You have fallen away from God’s grace.
