Paul’s second letter to the believers in Corinth (Part 3): 2 Corinthians 6:14–10:18

What do you do if people bent on self-promotion come in after you to undo all your hard work? Refer it back to God:

2 Corinthians 10:17-18 As the Scriptures say, if you want to boast, boast only about the Lord. When people commend themselves, it doesn’t count for much. The important thing is for the Lord to commend them.

Some suggest that Paul is referring to the prophet Jeremiah:

Jeremiah 9:23-24 Thus says the Lord: Do not let the wise boast in their wisdom, do not let the mighty boast in their might, do not let the wealthy boast in their wealth; but let those who boast boast in this, that they understand and know me, that I am the Lord; I act with steadfast love, justice, and righteousness in the earth, for in these things I delight, says the Lord.
