Solomon’s proverbs: Proverbs 16−18

Solomon wrote 3000 proverbs and collected other wise sayings; some made it into the book of Proverbs. These chapters are from the first collection of Solomon’s proverbs.

We didn’t need a(nother) book. Solomon said it thousands of years ago, albeit in more poetic language:

16:21The wise of heart is called perceptive,
and pleasant speech increases persuasiveness.

16:23The mind of the wise makes their speech judicious,
and adds persuasiveness to their lips.

Jesus took it one step further:

Luke 16:9 Here’s the lesson: Use your worldly resources to benefit others and make friends. Then, when your earthly possessions are gone, they will welcome you to an eternal home.
