Jesus is the Word.
He has been since (before) the beginning:
John 1:1-4 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.
And He became the physical presence of the Word:
John 1:14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
And if you think it’s impossible for a word to become something physical, then remember that God spoke the world into being.
One day, some scientist somewhere will show through some weird quantum physics entanglement theory (with maths that very few of us will actually understand) that words do, indeed, have a physical presence in our world.
