After hearing God’s challenge, Job had only one option that was consistent with his own integrity before God:
42:5-6I had only heard about you before, but now I have seen you with my own eyes. I take back everything I said, and I sit in dust and ashes to show my repentance.
What else could he say? After weeks, and possibly months, of telling everyone he felt abandoned by God, God turned up and started talking.
