Paul’s first letter to the believers in Corinth (Part 2): 1 Corinthians 4–7

Although we often talk about the ‘inner witness’, the ‘small, still voice’ that bears witness with our conscience, it doesn’t mean we’re in the right on a matter. We could be completely wrong.

Even Paul, whom we all think would have had a clear conscience at the time, knew this:

1 Corinthians 4:4-54 My conscience is clear, but that doesn’t prove I’m right. It is the Lord himself who will examine me and decide. So don’t make judgments about anyone ahead of time—before the Lord returns. For he will bring our darkest secrets to light and will reveal our private motives. Then God will give to each one whatever praise is due.
