Paul’s first letter to the believers in Corinth (Part 3): 1 Corinthians 8–11:1

Humility is one of those things that. once you think you have it, you’ve probably lost it—to pride.

Paul said something similar to the Corinthians:

^{1 Corinthians 10:12-13} If you think you are standing strong, be careful not to fall. The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure.

He even gave the example of Israel, whose pride in their own strength rather than relying on God eventually led to their downfall. He could have also mentioned the high price Hezekiah paid for his pride, or the same for Amaziah or Uzziah.
